"Samurai Japan" New Uniform Unveiled
11/6/2013
On November 6th, a press conference was held at a hotel in Tokyo to unveil the new "Samurai Japan" uniform.
The new "Samurai Japan" represents the unification of professionals, amateurs, and genders. The Top team, Amateurs, 21U, Collegiate, 18U, 15U, 12U, and the Women's National Team will all be wearing the same uniform with the same goal of becoming world champions.
The Design Concept of the New Uniform
The baseball talents all around Japan are like treasures to this country. We have so many young athletes who are still diamonds in the rough that we hope will one day grow to become members of the national team. The "Diamond Stripes" of this uniform represents this wish. We have also designed the "Japan" logo to resemble the uniform once worn by the 1931 Japan National Team when they competed against the Major League All-Stars, because we want the players to always be courageous and determined to play against the world. This uniform is not just a simple piece of clothing. It represents a unification of professionals, amateurs, and genders to come together as one for the future of Japanese Baseball.
Features of the New Uniform
A light and flexible material has been adopted in order to reduce the amount of tension caused on the upper-body when players raise or swing their arms. Hence, players can move their bodies more smoothly. Also, the sublimation printing used for the diamond stripes and logo is light and has no stiffness.
